He took a look at my older, heavy, wood garage door and presented a couple viable options.
I asked if he could install my choice then, and he did! It was a streamlined process from a company that's been recommended by friends for years.
He explained the warranty of the opener itself, the (SO worth it) $30 surge protector, and helped me set my code.

There is a big disconnect concerning service call fees for warrantee service. When we made the appointment, we were told there would be no service charge. I questioned why we paid a service for a call 5 months ago. They determined that we should not have been charged and are refunding what we paid.
When the service was completed today, the technician wanted to collect a service call fee. I explained that we were told there would be no fee and that the one we paid on a past visit is going to be refunded. He waived the fee but said that there is definately a disconnect since he was told to collect the fee.
Somebody needs to straighten this our since there are many people paying the fee.

We have a non-verbal child with special needs. Eloping out the garage is an issue that is both terrifying and a safety issue. The hold down for three seconds to lock the garage door was mastered by our son. We called Precision door, who installed our doors originally, and asked if they could put key pads inside to secure our garage better. Both the technician I talked to on the phone and Bryson who came to our house listened intently and were very kind of our unique situation/request. I am not sure Precision fully comprehends the peace of mind they gave us by installing keypads so garages can only be opened with a code entered. Thank you so much.
