In 2008, I had Precision fix a broken garage door torsion spring. Per recommendation of the tech and supported by online advice, I had both springs replaced at the same time. Knowing that the springs would have a limited life span and planning on staying in this home for a decade or two, I purchased the lifetime warranty on the springs.
In early 2021, one of the springs broke after 4428 days of service. This is consistent with the typical spring lasting 10,000 cycles, because we opened our garage door at least twice daily.
I call Precision to use the warranty. They were able schedule a 2 hour service time window the same day. Their technician, Mike called about 30 minutes before arriving. He was very easy to work with regarding the replacement under warranty. I am very happy with the service.
